"I do believe something magical can happen when you read a good book" ~ JK Rowling
Happy World Book Day!
I hope that you are sitting comfortably. Now, let me tell you a story...
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who had a wonderful imagination. She regularly talked to the Fairies who lived amongst the tall grasses at the bottom of her garden. Lazy Summer days were always spent sharing stories and enjoying tea parties.
But like all good things must, those idyllic days came to an end when the little girl grew up.
Until, one day the little girl, (who was now a mother to 3 little Princes and 1 Fairy Princess), was bestowed with a most magical gift - A door to the realm of the Fairies.
"If you want your children to be intelligent read them Fairy Tales" ~ Albert Einstein
Of course, the family knew this was indeed a great responsibility. They felt most humbled that the Fairies would choose to come and visit their Castle.
But they pondered; Where should they place this priceless treasure?
The littlest Prince had a great idea!
Why not the Library? "We all love stories!"he proclaimed.
So it was agreed that this would be the perfect place for the Fairy Door to reside, safely nestled amongst the well-read tomes.
"Someday you will be old enough to start reading Fairy Tales again" ~ CS Lewis
One day, a picturesque scene appeared outside the Fairy Door just in time for the Day of Books.
There was a picnic that wouldn't be out of place in an Enid Blyton story!
Spread out before them was a tiny chocolate cake and ginger ale for all.
What fun was had that day with the little children discussing their favourite stories and dressing up as their favourite characters.
It was all finished off with a big slice of chocolate cake.
"I always felt there was a place for me in all the books I read" ~ Enid Blyton
Feeling serene and happy, the mother quietly carried the smallest Prince up the tower to bed, the other 3 trailing sleepily behind.
She tucked them into bed with a kiss, watching as they drifted off to Dreamland. And she smiled as she imagined the happyvisions that would be swirling through their minds as they wondered what the Fairies would get up to next...

Now, where will your Fairy Door take you?...
