Who wants to catch a Leprechaun?
As we enter March, a wise Fairy friend keeps a close eye on their Fairy Door. Because, as everyone who's anyone knows, if you manage to catch a Leprechaun coming through it, you are fully entitled to one WHOLE pot of gold!
"The Leprechaun Trap" is a magical adventure that is so much fun for little ones. So in this blog I'll share with you my tops tips and some FREE Leprechaun printables, for some fabulous St Patrick's Day fun.
First, let's build a Leprechaun trap!
Now, the secret to catching a Leprechaun is nothing more than a good Leprechaun trap.
So, just outside the Fairy Door, I have set up a tempting pot of gold, cunningly balanced on top of an open matchbox.
I have rested the little stepladder from my Cleaning Fairy set against the matchbox.
My plan is this ... when that cheeky wee chap climbs the ladder to get to the gold, he'll tumble into my matchbox and I can shut it up quickly.
And that's how you catch a Leprechaun!
But, oh no! What's this?
Hang on a moment! It looks like I might have missed the mark. Because the trap is sprung and I found this Leprechaun letter beside the Fairy Door:
It seems our Leprechaun got away this time
In all honesty, the fun of this magical adventure is actually to be found in NOT catching our Leprechaun. Because once he is through the Fairy Door, he is free to play delightfully mischievous tricks around your house.
From shamrock sandwiches in lunchboxes, to green pee-pee in the potty, to balloons all round the home. The day is full of delicious discoveries of the Leprechaun's antics, ending in a sweet treat for the children.
But he left a little gift before he went back through the Fairy Door
You see, Leprechaun's are tricksters. But they're not mean. So when our dear friend has had his fun and heads back through the Fairy Door, he always leaves a little something to remember him by.

Maybe we'll catch a Leprechaun next year
Ah well! We didn't catch the Leprechaun this year. But perhaps we'll have better luck next time.
For now though, it's time to get ready to welcome our NEXT Fairy Door visitor ... The Easter Bunny! Are you ready for more Fairy Door fun?
